I have been belly dancing off and on for a few years, but have not had formal training other then a couple classes and videos. I actually want to take more formal training, and improve my skills. What is good about this video is that I can see what I need to work on with both form and rhythm.
Belly dancing not only is something I wish to improve and perform, but also something that will hopefully help with my confidence. With this dance, or any dance, you have to be more aware of yourself and comfortable in your own skin and that comes with time. I am for sure not entirely comfortable in my own skin yet. This dance also works great for exercise as well. You become strong and more flexible with time and practice.
As this year continues, I hope to progress with my lessons to smooth out my moves and become more adept. One of the ways I will be doing this is doing more videos of my dancing (you get to see me do more silly dancing) that will be a little more thought out then off the cuff as this one was.
